SmartOffice Application Installation
In a standard installation, you only need to change something in the dialogs marked below with (*). For the other steps you can simply continue by pressing Enter.
I. Installation Mode
This dialog does not appear if you are reinstalling an application, since in that case the same mode chosen during the first installation is used.
Whenever possible, you should use the Install for all users (recommended) [Instalar para todos los usuarios (recomendado)] mode. Only if your user does not have administrative privileges, and you do not know the credentials of an administrative user on your computer, should you use the Install for me only [Instalar para mi solamente] mode.
When you press Enter or choose the Install for all users option, the installer will ask for the necessary permissions to continue the installation. The confirmation message may, for example, read as follows:
Do you want to allow this app from an unknown publisher to make changes to your device?
If your user does not have administrative privileges, you will be asked to enter the name and password of an administrative user.
II. Installation Key (*)
The three-letter installation key of the company you want to install. If you want to install several companies from the same group, entering any key from that group of companies will work.
III. Destination Folder
This dialog does not appear if you are reinstalling an application, since in that case the same folder used in the first installation is used.
Normally you can accept the default value shown by pressing Enter.
IV. Optional Components
The additional components to install should only be changed if Smart's technical support has asked you to do so.
V. Database Access
As in the previous step, you can normally accept the default data by pressing Enter.
- Database access [
Acceso base de datos]: The server and folder where Smart's databases are located. - Server IP [
IP servidor]: The IP address of the database server.
VI. Select Companies (*)
This dialog only appears if the installation key entered in step II. belongs to a group of several companies.
Here you can check all the companies to include in the installation. An icon is created for each selected company.
VII. Uninstall Companies
This dialog only appears if you are reinstalling the application and there are companies that can be uninstalled.
If you want to stop working with a particular company, you can check it here. Only companies that were not marked for installation or reinstallation in the previous dialog appear in this dialog. The icons of the companies selected in this dialog will be removed.
VIII. Company Data
This dialog only appears if you checked Show advanced options in step IV - Optional Components.
Again, this should only be modified on the advice of Smart's technical support.
- Icon name [
Nombre ícono]: The name of the icon for the program. - Parameters [
Parámetros]: The parameters for calling the program. - Database access [
Acceso base de datos]: Full access to Smart's database in the format<IP>=<Host>:<folder><file>. - Database access [
Acceso bd. de config.]: Full access to Smart's configuration database in the format<IP>=<Host>:<folder><file>.
This dialog appears for each company that was checked in step VI - Select Companies.
XI. Start Menu Folder
The start menu group should be accepted by pressing Enter. It only appears the first time the program is installed.
XII. Additional Tasks
Normally you can accept by pressing Enter, unless you do not want to install any icon on the desktop.
XIII. Installation Summary
This is the last dialog before the installation begins. It shows a summary of the installation to be performed.
